This timber frame home in Vermont is perched on a hill with sweeping mountain views and a full wrap-around porch. Designed for cooking enthusiasts, the kitchen centers around a Galley Workstation that seamlessly supports the family’s workflow.
To create depth and visual interest, we layered Farrow & Ball’s Mahogany with Cabico’s Soothing Sand, carrying the rich mahogany tones into the pantry for continuity. In the bar area, Elmwood’s Moody Blues creates a striking moment of contrast. Behind the induction range, a custom tile backsplash—crafted by Miranda Thomas Pottery and inspired by the Tree of Life—adds texture and an artisanal layer to the space.
To honor the clients’ existing soapstone sink, we introduced a matching soapstone countertop for a cohesive, integrated feel, paired with cherry cabinetry from Elmwood. For the main prep surfaces, Dekton REM was selected for its durability and refined appearance, standing up to everyday use while maintaining a clean, elevated look.
The result is a kitchen that balances warmth, function, and layered beauty—thoughtfully designed to feel as though it has always belonged in the home.
